Within the Vinnova research project "Testbed Air Mobility" several parties collaborate to test and build UTM services for a future digital airspace over Sweden.
Through collaboration and technological leadership, the initiative brings together key services such as: Geoawareness (airspace layout, design and current configuration), Traffic Information (real-time position of manned aviation), and Network Identification (real-time drone positions including conformance monitoring).
The goal is to support scalable, secure, and transparent Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) across Sweden— enabling everything from commercial drone deliveries to critical infrastructure monitoring.
A simple and efficient UTM Exchange enables seamless coordination between multiple service providers—entities responsible for interfacing directly with drone operators—and the broader UTM ecosystem. These service providers, equivalent to USSPs under the EASA framework, ensure that drone operators can access essential services through mobile apps, webapps and API's.
